So many authors!

Just like there are too many books and not enough time in a day to get to them all, there are also many amazing children's authors and illustrators to read so get started now!  Below is an amazing author and artist, Eric Carle.  Most authors have websites, so you can discover all their work without leaving home.  There are so many videos online of books being read and shared, sometimes by the author themselves.

You may know his illustrations from Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See? by Bill Martin, Jr.  Bill Martin saw a drawing Eric Carle created for an advertisement and asked if he would help him with illustrations for his children's book.  Now Eric Carle has written and illustrated many of his own books and has become a favorite of young children because of the large pictures and bright colors.  The stories can be used with many ages, however, because of the lessons in his stories.  Read more than one and compare them with your child.  How are they the same?  How are they different? What is he trying to teach us?  Read them all in order and see if the illustrations change.  So many books!
